Sun Protection in Summer: The Best Deals & Tips

Summer beckons with beaches and sunshine, but without protection, it can be dangerous. We'll show you the best sunscreen deals and provide valuable tips for a safe summer vacation.

Summer lures us with bright sunshine to the beach, but before we dive into well-deserved relaxation, we shouldn't forget an important topic: sun protection. Because too much sun can not only cause unpleasant sunburns, but also cause serious long-term damage to the skin. This blog post gives you all the important information, tips and tricks so you can enjoy your summer carefree!

The sun sends us not only pleasant warmth, but also UV radiation. This is divided into two main types: UVA and UVB radiation. UVA radiation is responsible for premature skin aging, while UVB radiation mainly causes sunburn. Both rays can, however, lead to long-term damage such as skin cancer. The intensity of UV radiation depends on various factors, such as the time of day (it is strongest between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.), the latitude and the season. Reflection from water, sand and snow also increases UV exposure.

Don't forget that SPF isn't everything! Regular reapplication is essential.

Sun protection for children: Children's skin is particularly sensitive to UV radiation. Therefore, an even higher SPF (SPF 50+) is recommended. In addition, children should seek plenty of shade and wear protective clothing.

Broad-spectrum protection: Look for "broad-spectrum protection" on the packaging, which protects against both UVA and UVB radiation. Apply regularly: Reapply every two hours, especially after swimming or sweating. Enough amount: Apply a generous amount of sunscreen (about 30 ml for the entire body). Seek shade: Especially at midday (10 a.m. - 4 p.m.) seek shade.

In addition to simply applying sunscreen, there are other ways to protect yourself from the sun. A wide-brimmed hat or cap protects the face and neck. Sunglasses with UV protection are important for the eyes. Lightweight, long-sleeved clothing made of tightly woven fabric offers additional protection. Wearing UV protective clothing, such as special T-shirts or swim trunks, can also be useful. Remember that UV radiation is present even on cloudy days, therefore
